’07 AFC Girls Academy team celebrate as runners up at Mustang Stampede

The AFC 2007 Girls Academy finished first in Group B with 9 points and 3 wins against Mustang Elite, MVLA White, and San Juan White.

AFC 2007 Academy then moved onto a semi-final against Group A Runner Up, California Thorns Academy II, which AFC won with shut-out defense and constant ball pressure on the opponent.

The Tournament Final showed tough play by both teams and a lot of heart in this 5th weekend match in 90+ degree heat. AFC 2007 Girls Academy ultimately finished a Silver Second to San Juan Blue who had a couple more finishing touches to win the Tournament. AFC and PSC Coach Mark Nutter and AFC Parents very proud of level of play of this new team in a weekend filled with top NorCal Premier and Pre-NPL level competition.
