This section provides registration information for Recreational level teams, U6 through U19. Registration for Recreational teams begins in mid-April and in mid-May for U8+ teams and ends the last week of June for U6 teams. If a player has been selected for a Highlanders team please do not register through this website. Selected players will be sent a separate link via e-mail providing details on how to register for his/her team.
Please review the age group chart to locate the proper year for registering players. Also, players who do not get selected for a Highlanders team will need to follow this section’s instructions to be assigned to a PSC Recreational team.
General Registration Instructions
Rec Registrations WILL OPEN 4/24/18 for U6-U19.
Late Fee $50 added to U9-U19 after 5/31/18.
Registrations CLOSE on 6/07/18 for U9-U19 and CLOSE on 6/30/18 for U6-U8.
Recreational Players and Teams
No tryouts are required for PSC recreational level teams. Players are assigned to teams by coaches and the respective age group coordinators. Player preferences will be accommodated to the extent possible; all U9 and older teams are formed in accordance with the PSC player draft process. Teams will be ‘flighted’ to play teams of similar age and ability.
Sunday Only Teams
PSC strives to host at least one team in each age/gender division which plays only on Sundays during the Fall season, provided there are sufficient coaches and players to form a team. PSC has done this on behalf of the entire Jack London Youth Soccer League for the past eleven years. These teams give preference to families who have custody, language school or religious conflicts with a Saturday schedule. This option needs to be checked on the registration form.
Playing Outside of Your Age Group
The California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) establishes age groups based on calendar year of birth. Please check our age group chart to see where your child should be playing in fall. The only PSC exception to CYSA is U6 in which PSC enrolls all Kindergartners.
U6-U8 age groups will play dual games, which means the team will divide their roster in half each game and play simultaneous games. Rosters can be divided in any way the coaches decide.
U7/U8 now includes 5 training sessions, per team, with a Professional Coach from 24-7 UK soccer. These sessions are an extra weekday learning opportunity for the players and parent coaches to attend.
Players who wish to play up in the next age group or play down with their classmates must obtain the approval of both the Age Group Coordinator of the ‘correct’ age group and the Age Group Coordinator of the age group that the player is looking to play into. To obtain permission, the player (or parent) should email both Age Group Coordinators with the request. The request should include the player’s name, grade in Fall and a brief explanation of why the player wishes to play up. Email addresses for the Age Group Coordinators can be found on our Contact page.
U6, U7 & U8 registration fees include the international ‘World Cup’ uniforms that have been so popular over past few years. U6, U7 & U8 players will be asked for sizing information during the online registration process.
Uniforms for U9 and older players are purchased through www.soccer.com. Purple jerseys (home jersey), shorts and socks are mandatory. However, you and/or your team may elect to purchase other official PSC items like away jerseys, warm-ups, T-shirts, hoodies and more. Your coach/uniform coordinator will be providing you with all the details (including a uniform number) once the teams are formed in June.
DO NOT order a uniform until you hear from your coach!
Registration Dates and Fees
For all U9, U10 through U19 recreational players, registration is due by May 31, 2018. A late fee of $50 will be assessed for those registering after this date. Registration will close on June 7, 2018.
U6, U7 and U8 registration will stay open until June 30. After this date, U6-U8 players will be waitlisted and accepted on a space available basis only.
The Fall 2018 registration fees are as follows…
- U6 = $175
- U7-U8 = $300 (includes 5 training sessions, per team, with a Professional Coach from 24-7 UK soccer. These sessions are an extra weekday learning opportunity for the players and parent coaches to attend.)
- U9-U19 = $275 ($50 late fee added after May 31)= $325
There are Additional Programs that U9-U19 can do thru 24-7 UK Soccer.
For more information, please see Refund Policy (Recreational) on the Registration FAQs.
For coaches, please register on same site as player but use Coach/Volunteer registration. PSC Recreational coaches will have to do fingerprinting thru LiveScan.
To do fingerprinting, it is essential that coaches bring their driver’s license (or another form of government issued identification) to fingerprinting together with the attached form properly filled out. Where the form asks for the District, League and Club number you must use these numbers for your fingerprinting results to be routed properly:
District = 04 League = 14 Club = 06
Coaches go to one of these sites. You do not get charged and CapitalLive can track these transactions.
All Rec and Competitive Coaches will need to complete the “Heads Up Concussion” free online class and obtain their certificate at:
