Technical Director Introduction

Piedmont Soccer Club is pleased to announce three new Technical Director (TD) roles to the program.

This is a brand new position within Piedmont SC.

The TD will be there as an additional layer of support to our professional and volunteer coaches at the recreation and competitive level. They will work alongside the Director of Coaching to ensure the goals of each age group are achieved.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new Technical Directors to all of our members.

“I am extremely passionate about the younger ages, and very excited to be working with these age groups across the club. I’d love to see Piedmont SC really expand in their youth, with a minimum of three teams at each age group, U9-U12. I’m a huge sharer of knowledge and want this to be spread, please don’t hesitate in approaching me I am very open and love a soccer conversation!”

“The U13-U15 age group is a unique phase of club youth soccer development with moving to the 11-a-side game and additional High School activities/interests being introduce. I work closely with the U9-U12 and U15+ age groups to ensure that there is a smooth transition and a viable learning environment for all that wish to play between U13-U15. We plan to build on the strong fundamentals learnt between U9-U12 and introduce specific phases of play whilst utilizing and enhancing these tools, preparing them for game at U15 and beyond.”

FC13
“The FC13 model is a unique and fantastic opportunity which partners Piedmont SC and Montclair SC together to reduce gaps in level of competition, increase participation and pool resources. FC13 is specifically for the U16-U19 age groups where teams enter the tactical phase of development and players look to begin their college preparation for those wanting to take their soccer to the next level. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable age group to work with as the players are able to adapt to different styles of play and philosophies to be tactically prepared in games.”

Please expect to see updates from your TD throughout the year, with coach and parent education resources, as well as some workshops/field sessions for our volunteer coaches to attend.

The TD will be a visible field presence throughout the season, observing practices and helping maintain high coaching standards and a consistent curriculum across their age group.

For our volunteer coaches, the TD will be providing session content and constant support on what to work on throughout the season, as well as general coaching advice.

Field sessions will take place in Fall, so that you can see sessions live, asking questions and take that information to your own practices.
