PSC Highlander 2022 Team Camps

Dear Highlander Families,
Please find below a draft of our PSC Highlander 2022 Team Camps. As always, dates and times are subject to change, but we wanted to give you the information as early as possible so that you can plan your summer activities!

We have some exciting changes to the format for this year. Please note the following:

• All team-camps scheduled towards end of summer break
• All team-camps on Witter Football field
• Multiple teams of the same age group in attendance to allow for scrimmage opportunities throughout the week
• Inter-Club scrimmages arranged for all teams
• Teams will get at least two pre-season scrimmages
• Evening training from mid-July (no team training during your team camp week)
• Plenty of additional programming opportunities, including Goalkeeping, Striker and SkillSKOOL classes, all running in Piedmont!

We have found that the level of intensity and quality of soccer diminishes over the week during 3 hour camps, so will be trialing a new format.
Pro coaches will work with players for 2 hours and one of our youth trainee staff will take the players for the third hour.

• This will allow parents to keep their same schedules, players to get some down time
• during camp and most importantly keep the quality of soccer high throughout the week!
• There is no registration required for team camps, or the ‘down-time’ period.
• Just mark your availability on teamsnap after teams are formed in May.

We are also adding formal scrimmages to the summer schedule, so that our teams get that all important game time, before the season starts in Fall.
With a lot of clubs in the area, playing multiple tournaments over the summer, we want to give our players the same opportunities of development, during this period, so that we can hit the ground running in fall.
This is especially important for teams moving from 5v5 to 7v7, or 7v7 to 9v9 and even more so for players new to Highlanders.
