’07 Highlander Girls Purple Team Edge Out Cal Magic in State Cup Game

Piedmont 2007 Girls Purple (07GP) played in their second Round 1 State Cup Game at California Magic 07G East on September 23. Both teams exhibited skill and intensity with a hard-fought 3-2 victory earned by 07GP. Strong defense, clutch goalie saves, midfield effort, and a varied scoring attack made the final difference for 07GP.

The win earned 07GP a second place spot in an evenly matched Platinum group with all 4 teams having secured 3 points so far – goal scoring thus being the differentiator. The final Round 1 games on October 21 will decide who moves up or down a flight going into Platinum State Cup Round 2.
