PIEDMONT SOCCER CLUB’S UNDER-SIX PROGRAM

Thank you for your interest in the Piedmont Soccer Club’s Under-Six Program. Please be advised this program is intended for children who are either born between August 1, 2004, and July 31, 2005, or will be in Kindergarten in the fall of 2010. Exceptions may be made, but please contact the U6 coordinator to discuss. U6 registration will open in April. Please see the registration page.

There is no Spring soccer for U6. Registration for fall will begin in mid to late April. Fall season begins in late August and lasts until the first week of November.

Program Overview: The U-6 Program is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of soccer while having FUN! The program is developmental, meaning the skills instruction and drills are designed for the physical, social, and cognitive level of the under-six player. The first part of the practice will be skill instruction and games to help the players develop specific soccer skills. During the later part of the practice, the players will be divided into small groups and will play short, fun soccer games. The players will not be on specific teams, nor will scores be kept. The goal of the program is for all the kids to have a good time while learning soccer skills in a non-competitive environment. Parents are encouraged to stay and participate.

Each player will be provided with a Piedmont Soccer Club uniform, which includes a reversible jersey, shorts and socks. The jersey will be collected and returned to the club at the end of the season. Players are encouraged to wear soccer shoes and shin guards, and to bring a size 3 soccer ball.
